FAQ

What if I work another job or perform in a band for a living?

That's music to our ears! We love working with active performers and understand the gigging lifestyle. Our flexible scheduling system lets you balance teaching with your other commitments, whether it's band practice, recording sessions, concerts or another job. Many of our instructors successfully juggle teaching with touring and performing – in fact, we think it makes them even better mentors for our students! Just let us know your availability, and we'll work together to create a teaching schedule that harmonizes with your life.

Can I save money on music equipment and gear?

Absolutely! As part of the Rockstars of Tomorrow family, you can earn access to exclusive discounts on all your favorite equipment and gear. Our instructors receive special pricing on everything from strings and sticks to instruments and amps. Plus, by joining our team, you'll also earn exclusive access to our state of the art recording studio and rehearsal time on our performance stage. It's just another way we help our instructors keep rocking while saving some cash!

Do I need to know how to read music or understand theory?

While music theory and reading skills are great assets, they're not deal-breakers! What matters most is your ability to effectively teach, inspire students and most of all, make it FUN!!!! Many successful musicians learned by ear first, and we embrace diverse teaching styles.

That said, we do encourage our instructors to continue growing their musical knowledge. If you're passionate about music and great at connecting with students of all ages, we'd love to have you on our team – whether you're more of a notation ninja or a play-by-ear pro!

Do you offer lessons in all styles of music?

You bet we do! From rock to jazz, classical to country, pop to blues – our students' musical interests are as diverse as our amazing instructors. We believe in helping students explore the styles they're passionate about while exposing them to new genres that might spark their interest. Whether your expertise is shredding metal solos, chicken-picking, laying down funky bass lines, or crafting beautiful classical pieces, there's a place for your musical style here. We match students with instructors who specialize in their preferred genres, creating the perfect environment for musical growth. So whatever style makes your heart sing, bring it on!

How long until I have a full schedule?

Building your student roster happens at different speeds, but we're committed to helping you succeed! New instructors typically start with a single student and grow their schedule over time as they establish their reputation. Our marketing team actively promotes our instructors, and you'll receive student referrals through our network of locations. Many teachers reach their desired teaching hours within 2-3 months, but it can be quicker depending on how many instruments you can teach and your availability. Plus, our scheduling system lets you set your preferred schedule allowing you to throttle your teaching load, so you're in control of how many students you take on. We're here to support your growth every step of the way!

How much money can I make?

Your earning potential with us is based on your dedication and availability! Instructors typically earn $20-35 per lesson hour, with opportunities to increase your rate as you build experience and student success. Many of our full-time instructors teaching 20-30 hours per week earn a comfortable living, while part-time teachers enjoy reliable supplemental income. Plus, you can boost your earnings through student showcases, workshops, and some concert events. We believe in rewarding great teaching, so we offer competitive rates and regular opportunities for growth.
